ONWARD. We have spent a year recovering. It's time to improve and move forward.

We devote 2022 to do more and to be more. More clients. More animals. More healing.

Our Fundraising 2021 Colorado Gives Day Fundraising Goal: $14,000

Colorado Gives Day is so important to AATPC. While some organizations host galas and other major fundraisers over the course of a year, we don't! Colorado Gives Day is the most important fundraiser of our year. What happens this day (or throughout the month of December) sets the stage for our ability to serve our clients and rescue animals next year. Your support this Colorado Gives Day of any amount is vital.

The impact of your donation this Colorado Gives Day will ultimately lead to increased access to care at one of the most unique state recognized community mental health centers in Colorado, Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado. Whether your donation is in support of animal care, our sustainability efforts, or general operating support, every penny will support this magical place of healing!

Journey with us

AHOY! We have our heading to reach our $14,000 goal and we need your help to get there. We want you to join us on this voyage. We set sail November 1st - the day you can begin scheduling your donation for Colorado Gives Day.

“Colorado Gives Day is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. Donations ensure our rescued animals are well cared for and animal assisted psychotherapy is available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.” Says Dr. Linda Chassman, co-founder and executive director, “Our goal this year is to raise $14,000 as well as receive a share of the $1 Million Incentive Fund. This money will help prepare us to serve even more people in 2022.”

ARGH! Thank ye matey!

$1 Million+ Incentive Fund

This year's $1 Million+ Incentive Fund is made possible by Community First Foundation, FirstBank, and other community members. It is one of the largest incentive funds in the country! Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated.  For more information about Colorado Gives Day partners and the incentive fund, please visit

As a special project, this year we hope to use a portion of Colorado Gives Day funds to support our Sustainability Efforts.

Our sustainability goals in 2022 are to 1) Reduce our carbon footprint and improve the environment around us, 2) Provide supportive and educational sustainability opportunities to our clients and community, and 3) Engage in sustainability activities with our clients.

Help support AATPC's sustainability goals. These efforts will include the purchase and installation of solar panels on our counseling building, various sustainability programs for our clients to participate in as part of their therapy, and care and maintenance of our garden and property.

About Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado

Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado (AATPC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has been providing licensed and professional animal assisted psychotherapy sessions to the Denver-metro community since 2010.

Located on the Barking C.A.A.T. Ranch (Center for Animal Assisted Therapy) in Arvada, Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado operates as both a professional counseling center and a home for more than 30 rescued or re-homed farm and domestic animals. Each animal has its own story and personality, creating opportunities for clients to practice growth and change within the animal-therapist client relationships. The animals, professional therapists, and the urban ranch setting combine to provide a rich experience for clients with hands-on work that facilitates change. "It's the type of therapy that works often for whom others have failed." Describes one AATPC counselor.
