Thank you for your interest in volunteering with AATPC. We are in need of hard-working volunteers! Volunteers are split into different teams and positions (indoor, outdoor, cat care, garden/property care) Volunteers help get the farm and animals ready for the day. Each position requires a weekly 2-hour commitment with 6 months minimum.

Animal High Five

Our non-profit counseling center is located on our 3-acre farm in Arvada, CO. We have 24 resident animals that have all been re-homed or rescued by us and help our clients with mental and behavioral health issues. Most of our clients are under the age of 18 and suffer from abuse and other forms of trauma. 

We are in need of hard-working volunteers! Volunteers are split into different positions indoor, outdoor, cat care, garden/property care. Volunteers help get the farm and animals ready for the day. Each position requires a weekly 2-hour commitment with 6 months minimum. 

 

General Volunteer Information:

Our biggest need:

Indoor Feeding 8-10 am- Tuesday 

Outdoor Feeding 8-10 am- Wednesday, Friday & Saturday

Cat Care: 7-8 am Wednesday

Garden Volunteers: 8-10 am Monday- Saturday 

 

Requirements to Volunteer:  

    • Cannot be an active client or have immediate family enrolled in our counseling program 

    • Must be VERY reliable! 

    • Must be 18 years of age or older 

    • Volunteer at least two hours a week (if interested in animal care position) 

    • Remain active for 6 months (if interested in animal care position) 

    • Complete a tour, orientation, and training 

    • Understand and accept all policies and guidelines

    • Pay a one time $30 payment fee

Weekly Volunteer Job Positions:
  • Cat Care & Socialization:  Volunteers who would enjoy working with our 7 therapy cats (some sometimes foster kittens!) are needed to help with feeding wet/dry food, cleaning litter boxes, giving fresh water, and spending some time socializing
  • Indoor Animal Care & Socialize:  Volunteers who would enjoy working with our therapy rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and skinny pigs are needed to help with feeding, room cleaning, and spend some time socializing.  
  • Outdoor Animal Care & Socialize:  Volunteers who would enjoy working with our therapy alpacas, horses, minis, donkeys, goats, and chickens are needed to help with feeding, pen cleaning, mucking, turning out/in, and spending some time socializing
  • Animal Care Backup Volunteer: Volunteers who are trained in all areas of animal care including outdoor, indoor, and cat care. These volunteers should have a flexible schedule and are willing to be a backup for short notice shifts. **Always Need!**
  • Garden Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help with the upkeep of the produce and memorial garden. Duties include watering, weeding, outside sweeping, harvesting, and deadheading.  
  • Property Care Volunteer: Volunteers are needed to help keep AATPC grounds safe and beautiful. Duties include heavier outdoor projects such as weed whacking, tree trimming, weeding, mowing.
