Most of the work we do at AATPC is individual counseling and psychotherapy. Each of our psychotherapists specialize in different areas, including the treatment of:
  • addictions

  • eating disorders

  • trauma and abuse

  • domestic violence

  • relationship problems

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • attachment issues

  • personal growth and development

  • grief and loss

  • pet loss

  • couples and marital issues

  • gender and identity exploration

Our therapists have years of specialized experience and training, as well as advanced training and certification on how to integrate animals into the therapeutic process. Each of our therapists utilize a different theoretical approach to therapy, but our common goal is to help individuals reach their fullest potential in as brief time as possible. We have found that the presence of animals in treatment allows us to move more quickly towards awareness and change.

If your sessions include working with our horse, sessions may occur outside in a meadow or arena. Similarly, some individuals working with a dog are more comfortable walking together around our neighborhood, while others prefer to stay in a more traditional setting within our office. We aim to meet the needs of each individual, and our initial sessions include a discussion about what you need to be successful. We also have the unique opportunity to work in a team approach with the other therapists at AATPC if appropriate.

Therapy is an important investment in oneself, and we respect your right to privacy, choice, and dignity. We want to include you in every step of the treatment planning and implementation.
